As we transition into a new season, I think it’s a great time for me and for anyone who didn’t quite complete the “Spring Cleaning” to participate in a Fall Declutter Challenge.
I’ll be honest my room is cluttered and it stresses me out. It’s not too terrible because I can walk freely around my room without having to kick objects out of my way. But I do hate that most of my furniture surfaces are covered in beauty products, papers and just random things that have collected.
The inspiration for this blog post and challenge came from the Instagram conversation between my lovely friend Yvonne (@TejanaMaluca) and I. We both talked about how we hate our clutter and how we should keep each other accountable for our decluttering process.
I suggested to reduce one item a day, but she said we should dedicate at least 10 minutes a day to declutter. So thanks to Yvonne, I am challenging myself to tidy up my space daily for 10 to 30 minutes. Studies do show that clutter in living spaces can create stress. I believe that your room or home should be a place that brings peace to you, it should be a place where you can relax after a long day.
One person I enjoy watching on YouTube is A Small Wardrobe. She makes videos that focus on minimalism. What I love about her content is that it’s helpful for beginners and she’s honest about how long it can take to get all the junk out of your home / living space.
Do you have any minimalism bloggers you like? If so I’d love to check them out.
